Isle of Palms County Park
Looking for an active beach outing? Come to Isle of Palms, home of the Wild Dunes Resort, for beach bars, water activities, and upscale shops.
Enjoy the Isle of Palms County Park beach with peace of mind … lifeguards are seasonally on duty along the beachfront designated swimming area; still be mindful of the strong currents. The city offers more than 50 beach access paths. Parking (for a nominal fee) is also offered in two city-maintained parking lots close to Front Beach on Pavilion Drive.
If you can’t find parking in a designated lot, you can park on any road right-of-way unless it has been designated with a “no parking” sign. Use common sense and courtesy when parking: all four wheels must be off the road and don’t block anything (driveways, beach access, mailboxes, etc.)
Isle of Palms is located just 12 miles from downtown Charleston; it’s about a 25 minute drive.
Sullivan’s Island, home to Old Fort Moultrie, is a quaint residential town rich in history. Make a pit stop at the shops and restaurants you’ll find along the way on Middle Street.
